Tucson Votes!

It all seems rather quaint now: the idea that something as simple and straightforward as a Voter Registration drive could have any effect. Or that it, if it could have an effect in theory, that it actually would. Of course, it didn't - not on the national scene. Donald Trump won the election, somehow or other, and that is that. On the state level, at least, some positive things happened. The minimum wage increase was passed - that's a huge win for people who work on the edge of sustainability in a financial sense. Anyone who argues that people should still be earning $7.70 in 2017 probably hasn't worked for $7.70 in their entire lives. Our voter registration activites were pretty straightforward: a few videos with some fabulous Tucson people unabashedly trying to make it cool to vote. And we still think it is: cool, that is. It's cool to give a damn about things. It's cool to show up.
